acting for camera
a 9 week intensive course with Mark Rees, director of Single Story Theatre Company, introducing techniques for performing on Camera. Held in Kardomah94's unique creative space, you will learn to develop an emotional connection with the camera.
Week 1 - 3
The study of the selected scripts and the skills needed to deliver them will enable you to experience and learn the fundamentals of acting for camera. It will allow you to bring the chosen narratives to life and give you the experience of shooting a rehearsed scene.
The first monologue will be supplied for you to learn in advance.
Finished edited scenes will be freely available for your showreel at the end of this course.
Week 4 - 6
The close study of duologues will introduce different aspects and techniques for on camera performance. Further developing your acting and reacting as a performer.
A selected Duologue will be screened at the end of the course.
Week 7 - 8
Headshots / Filming
You will be studying body language and interpreting this into photographic imagery, gaining an understanding of how different camera angles work from a director of photography's point of view.
Finished headshots will be freely available for your use at the end of this course.
The final evening of the course will involve a screening at Kardomah94 of selected monologues, duologues and headshots you have been working on, an evaluation of the work achieved and a Q & A with a guest industry professional.
